Аннотация: Статья посвящена проблеме родного языка в трудах выдающегося отечественного ученого, просветителя и общественного деятеля XVIII в. М. В. Ломоносова и его последователей. В XVIII веке, характеризуемом как век формирования национального самосознания, важнейшей задачей русской педагогики стало сохранение национальной культуры, что связывалось с необходимостью изучения родного языка – главного средства нравственного воспитания народа и формирования национального самосознания.

Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of “native language”, considered in the writings of the great Russian scientist and public figure in the 18th century – M. V. Lomonosov and his followers. In this new period of forming Russian national self-consciousness the Russian pedagogy had to solve the question: how to save national culture with the help of the native language. The solution of these problems was connected with compulsory studying of the Russian language, in which pedagogues found the main means of moral education and formation of national self-consciousness of the Russian nation.
